Department of Agronomy UGM Strengthens Academic Synergy through Consignment Meeting in Magelang

Magelang, 1–2 August 2025. The Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, organized a consignment meeting on 1–2 August 2025 as part of efforts to strengthen coordination, evaluation, and planning of academic programs and practicum management. Held at Atria Hotel, Magelang, the activity was attended by all faculty members and administrative staff within the department.

The consignment meeting was officially opened on Friday morning, 1 August 2025, with an address delivered by the Head of the Department of Agronomy. The first day focused on the presentation of departmental achievements and an update on the development of online education through Massive Open Online Courses, delivered by a representative from the Directorate of Academic Studies and Innovation of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The agenda then continued with a series of plenary meetings divided by study program levels, namely undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs.

Key discussions on the first day included curriculum evaluation, analysis of the Lecturer Evaluation by Students results, and planning for Interdisciplinary Courses. Participants also reviewed the implementation of practicum activities and laboratory management at both the Crop Production Management Laboratory and the Plant Breeding Laboratory. All sessions were conducted in a participatory and constructive atmosphere and concluded with an appreciation session and the distribution of door prizes.

The second day began with a joint breakfast, followed by continued plenary discussions focusing on preparation for the Internal Quality Audit and ASIIN accreditation, as well as evaluation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program and Interdisciplinary Courses. Beyond serving as a coordination forum, the consignment meeting also functioned as a platform to strengthen synergy among faculty members and administrative staff in achieving collective academic targets. Overall, the activity served not only as an evaluative and reflective forum but also as a means to reinforce collaboration within the academic community of the Department of Agronomy.

This activity contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education, SDG 9 on Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17 on Partnerships for the Goals through the enhancement of high-quality, adaptive, and collaborative higher education governance.
