Yogyakarta, 27 April 2025 — The Agronomy and Plant Breeding Student Association (IMAGRO) at Universitas Gadjah Mada celebrated its 43rd anniversary in an atmosphere full of warmth and collaborative spirit. The series of commemoration events began on 9 April and reached its peak on 27 April 2025 in room KPTU A1, 3rd Floor, Faculty of Agriculture UGM, under the theme “Reaching Hopes, Holding Dreams in Harmony of Kinship.”

The event was attended by more than 90 participants, including active IMAGRO administrators, general members, and lecturers from the Department of Agronomy. The event opened with remarks from IMAGRO President 2025/2026, Makhasin Suqi Habibi, who expressed gratitude for IMAGRO’s existence as a forum for collaboration and self-development of students over more than four decades.

Next, the Chair of the Department of Agronomy, Rani Agustina Wulandari, S.P., M.P., Ph.D., also gave a speech. In her message, she expressed her appreciation for IMAGRO’s contributions in supporting student organizational dynamics, and hoped that IMAGRO would continue to strengthen its role in shaping a positive image for the Agronomy study program within the Faculty of Agriculture UGM. As a symbol of gratitude and hope for the future, the event continued with a joint tumpeng cutting ceremony.

The event served as a reflective moment on IMAGRO’s long journey, as well as a symbol of commitment to continuous growth. The celebration’s highlight was a talk show segment themed “Dynamics and Management of Organizations”, presented by Valentina Dwi Suci Handayani, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D., a lecturer from the Department of Agronomy. She shared her experiences in managing organizations, building solid teams, and facing various leadership challenges. The spirit of kinship was made even stronger by interactive games involving all participants.

The event aimed to strengthen relationships between members through a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. The program then concluded with lunch together, entertainment performances by IMAGRO members, and documentation of the activities.

This 43rd IMAGRO anniversary commemoration was not merely a celebration of age, but also a space for reflection and encouragement for all members to keep moving forward. With renewed spirit in its 43rd year, IMAGRO commits to remaining a student development forum that is adaptive, progressive, and giving real contributions to society.

The anniversary event supports achievement of several points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among them SDG No. 4 (Quality Education), through increasing student organizational knowledge and capacity; and SDG No. 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), by encouraging development of leadership skills and collaboration.
