Yogyakarta, 11 April 2025 — At the Prof. Harjono Danoesastro Auditorium, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Gadjah Mada, the Syawalan event and the opening of the series of activities for the 79th Anniversary of the Faculty of Agriculture was held. Attending the event were teaching staff, administrative and support staff (tenaga kependidikan), retirees, and student representatives. The event served as a forum for academic community bonding and served as the opening moment for the Faculty’s 79th anniversary series.
The Syawalan began with a warm welcoming address from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Ir. Jaka Widada, M.P., Ph.D. In his remarks, he stated that this Syawalan event is a chance to strengthen the bonds of friendship, to forgive one another, and also marks the moment for opening the series of events for the Faculty’s 79th anniversary.
After the opening speech, the program continued with the reading of the Syawalan Pledge led by Mr. Asnawi, a support staff member from the Department of Agricultural Socio-Economics. All attendees followed the pledge with solemnity. This was followed by a collective prayer, enhancing the solemn atmosphere. As a closing, everyone took part in halalbihalal, exchanging handshakes and asking forgiveness from each other.
The Syawalan event organized by the Faculty of Agriculture at UGM not only functioned as a venue to reinforce fellowship and togetherness among campus community members, but also aligns with the efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
